Robin Dreyer — Master Instructor, Cueing Arts

Robin Dreyer portrait

Robin Dreyer has made his living in pool since he was 15 years old. He competed professionally for more than a decade, winning over 300 tournaments throughout the Pacific Northwest before turning his full attention to teaching the game.

For the past 40 years, Robin has been a full-time instructor, operating a dedicated training academy and working daily with players of all skill levels - from beginners building fundamentals to advanced competitors refining precision and consistency.

Unlike most instructors, Robin didn’t stop at experience. He went back to school to understand why shots work - studying physics, kinesiology, body mechanics, and education - and then built a complete, structured curriculum around those principles. That work resulted in more than 6,000 documented drills covering everything from stance and stroke fundamentals to aiming systems, cue-ball control, pattern play, strategy, and the mental game.

Robin is a co-founder of Illuminated Cueing Arts and the architect behind the ICATS training methodology. The ICATS projection system, along with tools like Cue Caddie and Deadeye Trainer, were created to solve a single problem: how to make high-level instruction precise, repeatable, and measurable - without guesswork.

If you’re tired of “hit a million balls” advice and want disciplined, results-driven instruction tailored to your game, private lessons with Robin deliver the full package: clear diagnosis, structured practice, and a proven path forward.
